  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Limited edition stereo lathe cut release. 25 copies only!

Made to feel people anxious, uncomfortable and most of all; special! You could be 1 out of 25 out of of 7.8 billion after all!

Additional info: Lathe cuts are produced differently than pressed vinyl and don't always play perfectly on all turntables. The grooves are shallower, so make sure the record and needle are both extra clean before playback. If the sound is distorted then the needle didn't catch the groove properly - reset the needle. Shallower grooves also result in lower volume, so turn it up to 11!

  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

Limited edition cd release of Folk Horror. 25 copies only!

It’s a CD that looks like a record, even though you can’t play it on a record player. Yes, I tried because there are CDs you can play on a record player. Look it up, if you don’t believe me! Anyway, this is not one of those.

about

I started the day the same way I start all of them; depressed and uninspired. Looking out the window, I noted that everything is intact; there’s a raging pandemic and nothing to do. So I had a drink and now I needed some music. The thing about addictions; they work in bundles.
I dropped the needle on a favourite Sun Ra record and it kicked in... even darker and heavier than ever before. As I realized that I’m playing a 45 in 33RPM, it hit me; jazz in slow-motion is the scariest shit.

I’d just found a battered saxophone in a junk shop a few weeks earlier.Propelled by my near-complete lack of skills on the instrument, I started laying more and more improvisational tracks on each other, until it sounded like I could play the damn thing. Then, I bowed my waterphone and it felt like I found the blow I was looking for all along. Now it needed spirit. So I looked out that window again.

"Juniper Tree" was inspired by the Brothers Grimm tale, as well the striking film with the same title (Nietzchka Keene, 1990). It’s a curse on abusive parenthood.
"Preacher Man" was inspired by the outlandish Eyes of Fire (Avery Crounse, 1983), and the residential school system of Canada. It’s a curse on religious persecution.
"Harvest They" was inspired by The Wicker Man (Robin Hardy, 1973), although in this version the rural death-cult is sacrificing it’s own in hopes of better crop. It’s a curse on capitalism.
"Conqueror Worm" was inspired by Witchfinder General (Michael Reeves, 1968), and the overturning of Roe V. Wade. It’s a curse on the patriarchy.

I know that for most, it’s nothing but noise. But making noise is why I'm here. And if I look out that window now, I can see that, indeed, everything is intact. There's still a pandemic, while humanity is marching backwards. But all of a sudden, I’ve got a fuckton to do.
